About payment files
Preparation for Payment File
To include amounts in a payment file, you need to set this up once per payment in Celery. You do this by indicating in the payment that the amount should be included in the payment file.
If you are new to Celery and already work or plan to work with payment files, you will need to enable this for all employees. To save time, you can use the bulk option to set this up for all employees at once. More information about this can be found in our explanation of bulk options.
Amounts in the Payment File
In Celery, you can generate a single digital payment file for the following payments:
- Net wages to be paid
- Payment of a fixed amount to other accounts
- Transfer of withheld payments to third parties
Once the payroll run has been processed, everything should be ready to be included in a payment file.
Creating a Payment File
Go to the "Reports" tab and select "Report 3 - Bank Transfers" within the periodic reports section.
Next, fill in the required information and click "Apply." The banks you can select are those where the amount will be deposited. It is possible to pay all banks at once or to split the payment between the bank you are paying from and other banks.
Once you have made your selection, you will be asked if the report should be generated. This is a different report than "Report 3 - Bank Transfers."
After that, you can download the file. It will be saved to the "Downloads" folder on your computer. You can then upload this file to your online banking system.
Do you make payments from RBC Bank? If so, you must first request the bank to activate 'File Transfer' in RBC online banking. For MCB, CMB, or WIB, you will need Corporate Online Banking, and you must first obtain your Originator ID codes from the bank, as this code needs to be entered once when creating the digital payment file. |
