AOV/AWW insurance

The AOV (General Old Age Insurance) is a national insurance that provides a basic pension for persons who have reached the pension age. Implementation and benefits are managed by the SVB.

The AWW (General Widow and Orphan Insurance) is a national insurance that provides financial support to the partner upon death of the insured and to children upon death of a parent.

AZV insurance

The AZV (General Health Insurance) is a mandatory health insurance. This insurance entitles holders to medical care and medical treatment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

ZV insurance

The ZV (Sickness Insurance) covers the risk of loss of income due to incapacity for work (continuation of wage payment during illness).

An employee is mandatorily insured under ZV if:

  • they perform work in an employment relationship or execute personally contracted work; and
  • the wage remains below the applicable SVB wage limit.

The ZV premium is an employer premium.

OV insurance

The OV (Accident Insurance) insures employees against occupational accidents. Every employee is mandatorily insured under OV, regardless of salary level. The OV premium is an employer premium.

Display on payslip (ZV / OV)

The ZV and OV premiums are employer insurances and are not deducted from the employee's wage. Therefore:

  • ZV and OV are not displayed on the payslip;
  • these premiums are visible on the checklist and the salary journal.
