Why don’t imported children give a child allowance, or why is the option not available?
Celery checks each child’s date of birth. If a child is too old, the employee can’t get the child allowance for that child. In that case, Celery keeps the option switched off. This helps prevent mistakes in the salary calculation.
Important: always use the situation on 1 January
Whether the employee can get the child allowance depends on the child’s age and situation on 1 January of each year.
- Enter the child details as they were on 1 January.
- Did something change during the year? Don’t update it yet. Wait until you’ve opened the next tax year in Celery.
