Does Celery account for premium changes during the year?
Short answer: No.
Celery calculates the social premiums in one of two moments:
- In the last regular pay slip of the year.
- When the employee leaves the company, if you entered an end date.
At that moment, Celery looks at the employee’s premium settings as they are right then. It does not look back at changes made earlier in the year.
What are the “premium settings”?
They tell Celery how to calculate the premiums. For example:
- How the premium is split between the employee and the employer.
- Whether the extra 1% AOV/AWW premium applies. (AOV/AWW is the national old-age pension and widows’ and orphans’ insurance.)
- Whether the AOV discount rule applies.
- Whether the BVZ exemption applies. (BVZ is the basic health insurance.)
Tip: Check that the employee’s premium settings are correct before you run the last pay slip or process their exit. Celery uses whatever is set at that time.
